Dana Stevens, Lizzie Skurnick, and I Podcast About Eat, Pray, Love
(With apologies to anyone seeing this on multiple platforms. It’s a rare occurrence.)
I did a Slate Spoiler podcast with two of my heroes about that big chick flick. My favorite part is how Dana keeps relentlessly outing Lizzie and I for crying at one part of the movie. Also, Dana’s great review, of course. Both are here: Eat Pray Watch (Slate)
“Dance, monkey, dance! Take ‘when did you write for MadTV?’ and spin it into comedic gold!” - My favorite comment on a Washington City Paper interview with Patton Oswalt in which the reporter calls Patton “boring” after spelling his name wrong and asking the worst, most yes-or-no questions ever. Luckily, Patton is redeemed both in the comments and by just being better.
"The story he is writing could be infinitely interesting. It could also be an endless attempt to dodge finishing, a nightmare version not of writer’s block, but of writer’s endless composition. Of formlessness. Of a life spent dodging judgment as to how he spent his time living.
Michelle told me that she was planning something a little different this year, and I was overwhelmed by the kind words I received from so many supporters like you.”
This is like getting a letter from the Tooth Fairy when you already know it’s your parents. I don’t like it! We are all adults here. (By the way, my signature on the online card just said “SURPRISE!!!!!!” It was a joke.)
